Adoptee Mentoring Society
Adoptee Mentoring Society (AMS) is a nonprofit founded by Angela Tucker to create affirming, healing-centered spaces for adopted individuals. Through mentorship, storytelling, and identity-affirming programs, the organization helps adoptees build connection, explore their identities, and find a greater sense of belonging. As AMS continued to grow, its website needed to communicate the organization's evolving programs and mission while offering a welcoming starting point for adoptees seeking support and community.
The redesign focused on creating a clearer, more cohesive online experience that reflects AMS's bold personality and inclusive values. Through refined content organization, thoughtful visual styling, and custom development, the updated website brings the organization's programs and resources into focus while making it easier for visitors to find ways to connect and participate.
Project Objectives
Create a welcoming online experience: Develop a website that reflects AMS's affirming mission and helps adoptees feel welcomed as they explore mentorship, resources, and community programs.
Clarify programs and resources: Reorganize site content to communicate the organization's offerings more clearly and guide visitors toward relevant programs, events, and opportunities to get involved.
Strengthen visual cohesion: Refine typography, color, and layout while preserving the bold personality of the existing brand and incorporating original visual assets.
Improve usability across devices: Create a responsive experience with intuitive navigation and custom styling that supports visitors accessing the website on desktop and mobile devices.
Design & Development
Custom Squarespace Website Design: Restructured and redesigned the website in Squarespace to better support AMS's mission, programs, and growing community.
Content Structure & Navigation: Reorganized pages and navigation to make mentorship programs, events, and other resources easier to discover and explore.
Custom CSS & Responsive Development: Implemented custom styling and tailored layouts to support the visual direction and create a consistent browsing experience across screen sizes.
