My Morning Routine

I recently came across the website My Morning Routine and loved the idea of breaking down my morning. Mind you, I still work a part-time job, but let's skip those days and go straight to my full studio days- A.K.A heaven! 

How long have you stuck with this routine so far?
Well, I started my current part-time job as a librarian February 2014, so a little over a year now. 

How has your morning routine changed over recent years?
After getting my current job, my mornings off routine has become more consistent, which I love. I used to work a restaurant job and my schedule was everywhere. Now I have Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's off every week. I have always been a creature of habit so this schedule really works for me and I can't complain. 

What time do you go to sleep?
I am a TIRED and true insomniac, and like most insomniac's I have the worst sleep schedule. The older I get, the worse it becomes. I usually go to bed around 2AM and toss and turn the whole night. But no matter how bad my nights are, I usually get out of bed around 9 / 9:30 AM.

Do you use an alarm to wake up in the morning, and if so, do you ever hit the snooze button?
Yes, I am a proud user of my iPhone alarm- customized ring tone of course!  And no, I am by no means a snoozer. Once that alarm goes off, I'm wide awake whether I like it or not. (^.^)

How soon after waking up do you have breakfast, and what do you typically have?
I'm one of those people who wake up hangery, so I have to eat my right after I wash my face and brush my teeth.

Do you have a morning workout routine?
Yes, I have been going 2 years strong with my health kick. I work out 4 - 5 times a week for at least an hour each time. I alternate between straight cardio (running 3-5 miles around the park near my house when the weather is nice,) yoga, HITT, or rowing (which my soon to be mother-in-law gave my fiance and I as a gift for our engagement. It makes me feel like Claire Underwood from House of Cards, so accentually a bad ass!)

Do you answer email first thing in the morning, or leave it until later in the day?
In the morning, I like to take time for myself and then get to business once the afternoon rolls around.

How soon do you check your phone in the morning?
Is immediately too soon?

What are your most important task in the morning?
Drinking COFFEE or TEA. I need it. It's essential for making me feel like a human in the morning. I am more so a tea drinker but on days I feel deader than usual, the JUICE is necessary and by juice I mean coffee. After that first cup, all the other task can take place.

What do you do if you fail to follow your morning routine, and how does this influence the rest of your day?
I can usually cope pretty quickly and bounce to the next task that makes sense, but for the most part, my routine is the same everyday. The only part that really fluctuates is when I workout. If I know it'll get very warm that day, running is out of the question so I'll push my workout until later on in the evening or around 11PM.
